Papi’s Picks – October 2014

It’s been a tough few months for TopFloorBeats, and I’m sorry I haven’t updated the site in a while. Going forward I’ll be posting monthly playlists of the best tracks I can find. For more regular music updates, you can always check out what we’ve been liking and reposting on Soundcloud. So without further ado, here’s the first installation of Papi’s Picks, enjoy!

Pompeii (Slander Heaven Trap Edit) – Bastille & Audien & Party Thieves

I bet you thought the remix book closed on Pompeii after Audien created one of the best remixes of the year. Then Slander came in and opened the book again just to close it once more. This remix brings everything that Audien did, and adds just a little spice on top to change up the banger everyone loved this summer.

Will Sparks – This Is What The Bounce Is (Original Mix)

After tropical haus, Melbourne Bounce has dominated my speakers all summer. People want the bounce, they’re just waiting for you to show them how to.

Sander Van Doorn & Firebeatz – Guitar Track (Sam Feldt Remix)

If you can’t tell already, I’ve been jamming to tropical haus for most of the summer, there’s just nothing better. This will probably be the last tropical song I post today, otherwise I’d never stop. If you want a look at all the tropical songs I’ve been playing this summer, check out this playlist that I will continuously be updating. Enjoy the most sax you’ve had in a while.

War – Low Rider (Lookas Remix)

70s banger game changed. This one is too spicy for you not to love it.

The Notorious B.I.G ft. Ja Rule – Old Thing Back (Matoma Remix)

Continuing with the throwbacks, here’s some tropical Biggie to bring back all the middle school memories. Get ready for a saxy Sunday.

50 Cent – 21 Questions (SNBRN Remix)

Everyone loved 50 Cent through high school, before EDM stormed onto the radio. And while some people might be bitter about the waning popularity of hip hop, artists like SNBRN are rebranding some classic jams with a modern flair.

KANYE ft. Siren (Original Mix) – The Chainsmokers + Bebe Rexha – Drinking About You (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Sorry for the hiatus everyone, joining the real world has been really tough. I’m gonna do my best to reupdate this site with all the songs I’ve been listening to since May, so I hope you’ll bear with me. First up is a new track from our boys The Chainsmokers, and it’s everything you could have wanted and more from these guys. Following a massive world tour on the heels of #Selfie, these guys are back in the studio with some fire. First up is a brand new original track, Kanye, that really showcases the evolving sound the guys are developing, a nice touch of trap pairs quite nicely with their signature xylophone-esque synths. Next is a delightful, yet mysterious little remix of Bebe Rexha’s Drinking About You. I don’t know why you’d still be reading any of this, just listen already.

Ella Henderson – Ghost (Oliver Nelson Remix)

After winning almost winning The X Factor in 2012, Ella Henderson let the world know that she’s got an incredible voice. The original version of this song is beautiful in it’s own right, but then Oliver Nelson had to come in and ruin everything brighten our lives with this funky nu disco remix. If you can’t dance to this, please seek medical attention immediately.
